Concerning Protection of Personal Information

Daiichi Engei Co., Ltd. (the "Company") shall handle personal information in accordance with the following provisions.

1. Purposes of use of personal information

The Company shall use acquired personal information for the purposes listed below:

  • 1.1. to manage each membership and customer services provided by the Company,
  • 1.2. to offer information on products, services or events of the Company by newsletter, direct mail, email, etc. to customers,
  • 1.3. to fulfill contracts or transactions (e.g. sale, delivery, billing, management of customer's purchase history, etc. of the Company's products),
  • 1.4. to utilize for customers analysis and marketing to improve the Company's products, services, website, store operation, etc.,
  • 1.5. to response to customer inquiries and maintain history of customer inquiries,
  • 1.6. to confirm customer's identity, or
  • 1.7. to provide information on products and servics.

In addition, if purpose of utilization of private information is specified more particularly than in the paragraph 1, the Company shall use personal information pursuant to such specified purpose. Please see information on each service desk listed below for more detail.

2. Voluntary nature of submission of personal information

Customers can choose freely whether or not they will provide the Company with their personal information. However, please note that they may not be able to receive a part of the service offered by the Company until they have provided the Company with the necessary information.

3. Consignment of personal information

The Company may entrust to achieve the purposes listed in the above paragraph 1. the handling of personal information collected from customers to a trustee. In such circumstances, the Company will adequately assess the eligibility of the trustee, and impose a confidentiality agreement upon the trustee.

4. Provision of personal information to third parties

The Company, in addition to within the purposes described in the above paragraph 1, may provide customer's personal information to third parties with proper care for safety, via electronic media, mailing, network etc.
However, customer shall be able to request the Company to refrain from providing personal information to third parties. (In this case, please contact each customer information desk described in the following paragraph 5. ‘Procedures for disclosure of personal information'.)
The Company will never provide nor disclose customer information to any third parties expect under the following circumstances:

  • 4.1. when the customer personally agrees to such provisions in advance,
  • 4.2. when the Company provides or discloses the information to the trustee within the purposes to provide services requested by customer,
  • 4.3. when the Company discloses or provides the information as masked data such as statistical document,
  • 4.4. when the Company provides or disclose information to the third parties who conclude contracts with the Company for duties of confidentiality, prohibition against provision of information, responsibility sharing at the time of an accident, etc., and who have eligibility to handle the information on equal terms with the Company,
  • 4.5. when the Company is required to cooperate with a state institution, a local government, or an individual or a business operator entrusted by one in executing the affairs prescribed by laws and regulations,
  • 4.6. when suspicion of illegal or devious activities, fraud is risen, or a legislative response is necessary, and when the Company needs to investigate, prevent, or deal with the aftermath of the cases, or
  • 4.7. when the Company makes a reasoned decision not to disclose information for protecting the rights, property, safety, etc. of the Company or any other third party.

5. Procedures for disclosure of personal information

The Company receives customer's requests for disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of the customer's personal information held by the Company at the following customer information desks.

  • 5.1. Procedures for requests for disclosure
    • 5.1.1. The Company shall receive complaints or questions concerning customers by telephone, electronic mail, and letter.
      *Requests via electronic mail will be accepted contact on the Company's website.
    • 5.1.2. Customer's requests for disclosure, correction, or cessation of use of the customer's personal information held by the Company shall be received basically by mailing the Company's prescribed request form ‘Requests for Disclosure of Personal Information'. (Mailing costs shall be born by requester).
      • Requests for Disclosure of Personal Information' form can be downloaded from the Company's website of at the following customer information desks. telephone, etc.
    • 5.1.3. ‘Requests for Disclosure of Personal information' requires attachment of a copy of driving license or health insurance card. (Description of domicile of origin is not needed and shall be black out prior to submission.)
    • 5.1.4. In addition to the document described in the above paragraph 5.1.3. to ensure statutory agent's identity, requests for disclosure through agent shall need documents described below.
      • 5.1.4.1. Statutory agent: document or copy of family register (a person with parental authority can submit a copy of health insurance card containing details of family dependents) that ensures statutory agent's identity.
      • 5.1.4.2. Authorized agent: the Company's prescribed authorization letter form ‘Authorization Letter Concerning Disclosure of Personnel Information' with registered seal of applicant (mandatory), and certificate of a seal impression (issued within a month) of applicant.
    • 5.1.5. When disclosure itself would constitute a violation of laws and/or regulations
